Fashion and Lifestyle? (2)

I wanted to start off with an easy blog post, what this meant was one where I didn't need to take pictures. I decided on writing about trends that I hate. I thought this would be pretty easy to do as it's all my opinions.I wouldn't have to research, I wouldn't have to take photos and I wouldn't have get any special supplies. However, I will clearly need to change my approach on when I blog, because the post took me much longer than I thought it would. While part of that I believe was attributed to the fact that I have a hard time describing why I dislike something. I'm not totally discouraged though, as part of my goal was to improve on my writing. In order to improve, I need to start somewhere.

Even through the long process of writing my first blog post I have luckily already been able to start on my next post. I was making cards anyways, so I decided to take pictures of the process so I could write a post about it. I know a DIY project isn't strictly fashion, but I guess it can be included in the lifestyle part of "fashion and lifestyle". I'm pretty sure that this post will be an easy one to write, as I don't need to research, or write opinions. The only difficult part will be picking and editing photos to use. I was a little worried about how the photographs would turn out, as I had my sister take them for me, but luckily the lighting was good that day so they aren't that bad. I'm hoping that I can post this DIY by Friday night.

Before I post my next blog post, I really want to work on how my blog looks. After actually posting something, I don't like the way everything looks. I think I want to use less grey and more black and white. I think the way I had it before was too "cutesy". I want my blog to be minimalist, classy, easy to use, and inviting. I don't feel that at the moment it checks all of those boxes. I think I'm going to first see if I can download themes to use on my blog, as this would be much easier than change a billion settings on one of the site's basics themes. I'm not the most tech-y person so completely designing my own theme would not be ideal.

  1. Your blog for the project looks really aesthetic, though I get what you mean with it being a bit more on the "cutesy" side. (I mean, I'm always up for black and white.) You first post on the blog is a great start, and I'm excited to see what you post next. I agree that it would be better to pick a template since using one makes everything 1000 times easier and eliminates the majority of the work you'd have to do. Good luck!
